Assam: Bringing Science to Life

This is perhaps my favourite memory from the entire workshop. While exploring the school, we found a microscope that had not been used for a long time. Even the teachers were not completely sure how to operate it, and most of the students had never had the opportunity to observe anything through a microscope. What began as a simple discovery soon turned into an exciting learning experience. We explained the basic working of the microscope, prepared a sample, and invited the students to observe it one by one. The excitement on their faces when they saw a familiar object magnified for the first time was unforgettable. Soon, more and more students gathered around, eagerly waiting for their turn and discussing what they could see. The microscope, which had been sitting unused for years, suddenly became the centre of attention. It felt as though a forgotten part of the science laboratory had come back to life. This photograph represents much more than a science activity. It captures curiosity, excitement, teamwork, and the joy of learning through experience. It was one of those special moments when students, teachers, and volunteers were all equally amazed and eager to learn.
